'As wide as all the world, great, high and unbelievably white in the sun, was the square top of Mount Kilimanjaro.' Ernest Hemingway
Kilimanjaro needs no introduction. It is the mountain that we draw as a child – the large wide triangle topped with a jagged patch of snow. It is the mountain that we associate with adventure and characters like Hemmingway. Rising three miles up from the surrounding Masai plains, Kilimanjaro is more than the highest point in Africa, more than one of the seven summits, it is a constant reminder of how absurdly beautiful this world really is.

Mount Kilimanjaro can be trekked all year, but the best times to undertake a Mount Kilimanjaro climb are perhaps from late June to October or mid-December to mid-March. For further details see the itineraries. You need to prepare for very variable temperatures, from hot to extremely cold |
